Miana miriam5/7/2023 As the Vice President of The Mental Elephant, she is tasked with developing and executing video content, logo designs, and graphics that reflect organizational values and increase the digital footprint across multiple platforms. Michea is a USC Black Alumni Association Scholar, a member of the Lambda Pi Eta National Communication Honor Society, and a Special Olympics volunteer. Before USC, Michea earned her BA in Communication Mass Media & Journalism from La Salle University, where she was a member of the women’s basketball team and an intern for the Washington Football Team and Comcast Sportsnet. Currently, her short film, Heart Eyes, a coming-of-age story starring a Black girl with Down syndrome, is airing on Magic Johnson’s Aspire TV network. A graduate of The University of Southern California with her MFA in Film & TV Production, Michea has produced, edited, written, and directed a myriad of content, including a festival-winning supernatural thesis film. Michea Bryant is an award-winning filmmaker from PG County, Maryland, and the older sister of Miana Bryant. While balancing her credentials, and determination, Miana plans to grow The Mental Elephant into a multifaceted mental health facility and provide direct care to those in need. Miana furthers her work in mental health by being a full-time well-being counselor for an alternative school in Washington, DC, along with telehealth therapy consulting. Aside from online work, she is the Director of The Mental Elephant Incorporated, a 501(C)3 Nonprofit organization with a 4-member board of directors and an estimated 250 herd members. Though wounded, Miana turned her pain into ‘The Mental Elephant” to reach other people around the globe that battle the same problems. Her passion for mental health stemmed from her battles with depression and anxiety throughout her adolescence. Miana is a licensed graduate social worker with expertise in applied behavioral analysis, mental health, and crisis intervention. But we can see it extending beyond that sphere into the next wave of Old Testament names post-Rachel, Rebecca, Sarah, Hannah, and Leah. The oldest-known form of Mary, serious and solemn Miriam has been a particular favorite of observant Jewish parents. Miana Bryant was born and raised in Prince George's County, Maryland, and is an alumnus of Howard University School of Social Work. The name Miriam is girls name of Hebrew origin meaning 'drop of the sea, bitter, or beloved'.
